Been a very interesting month or so here in Honduras. So interesting, I could not find a way to balance the highs and the very low lows into an update to supporters. And to be honest, not sure why I am here blogging, but here we are.
The above Instant Pot was donated last year to put on the FAME container. I was not sure where it would get used, and it bounced into a few cook's hands here before Consuelo took up the challenge in Sampedrana, using it successfully for the kids in the Milk Project there. An instant pot, that took quite a while, longer than I anticipated, to find a home. But so it did.

The church in Las Botijas was closed for some time, part of a bigger sad story there, one we were, and are, working to change. All of us. Because from closed, the first Sunday Jonathan drove all the way there to open the doors again, there were 15 that came back.
We have several projects pending with groups, and without, and many of those fall out what the mission budget would allow. (like the idea above to take advantage of some property outside the wall for some flowers and fence row help) and then other projects that need to get done...but stuff keeps getting in the way. Good things, bad things, procedural things. It adds up.
It is interesting how fast time flies, and how things get done, don't get done, and how much or little time we have to pay attention to it all...to some things, impatiently waiting, and other things blessings that we don't even take the time to acknowledge, all in a tornado like state. Which means...a lot of stuff in the air, awesome things that lift you up like helium balloons, and other lead balls of doom falling and swirling with great speed. All while we are there spinning so many important plates.
To borrow a Psalm "I lift my eyes up to the tornado, and where does my help come from? It comes from God, the maker of the sky and the land."
I just think of the Martin Luther hymn A Mighty Fortress...a modern translation of verse 2:
If we relied on our own strength,
We’d surely lose the battle,
But God provides the perfect Man
To break the devil's rattle.
Do you ask who that may be?
Christ Jesus, it is He!
The Lord of Hosts His Name,
From age to age the same,
And He will win the battle.
He watches...He knows.
