Slow down

We have been quite busy working seven days a week for quite a while now.  Lately, I have been praising God though for several little pauses to watch Him work.  Like the sunrises the past couple days have been amazing.  To just be able to look out and see the changes, the city bathed in light, and just thank God, has been nice.

With the group in San Juancito yesterday doing food distribution with the brothers and sisters there, got to see the progress on their kitchen/eating area.  As we anticipate the Milk Project growing into its 7th location here, there was also some talk about how that would work, what would need to be built, etc.  Still, nice to stop and just chat with some of the newer staff about the walls in front of us and behind us coming from the former mine, some of the church history, just praising God for what He has done.

Using their rather nice bathroom facilities, I saw what started as a gift from the mission, still in use with new soap in it.  Very cool.

FYI, in amongst all the work going on here, growth, challenges, etc...we moved how the website is hosted.  So this blog might also look a little different.  I also now stop to wonder if it will continue to send blog updates automatically to subscribers?  I guess we shall see.

Also while in San Juancito, I got a few pictures of Dr. Valladares' devotional in the clinic.  He was sharing how God has changed his life ever since he started working at the clinic, and thankful for the Bible he was gifted at his baptism.  He asked everyone in the clinic to sign it.

As it happened, we were visiting a house with some food when those pictures came in, and so we got to share that story and pictures with the person the church was trying to encourage to take a step in faith.

It was, timely.  Glad we stopped to look.

Near someone's house we were visiting, after a short walk we found out why the area was called "Piedra Gorda" (Fat Rock) as in the middle of what you see here, were a few massive boulders, upon which I was standing on one to take this picture.  It wasn't part of our planned excursion, and that turned out to be a very quick emotional pit stop for me, and I think everyone with us.

In other mountains, His Eyes grows coffee with views kind of like this.

We were having some cart issues with the old website, and we think we have that fixed now, so if you want to click on this fancy button, you can find out for yourself!

Coffee here!
