The Milk Project was born out of our clinic seeing so many mal and undernourished children in our area at the clinic in Tegucigalpa.
From what started with handing out powdered milk to mothers, has grown over the years to encompass an after school program that focuses on trying to help children and their families physically and spiritually. What started in Tegucigalpa is now in six different locations with over 250 children. The other five locations are with five of the His Eyes churches. A good meal every day (often the only real meal the children get), spiritual emphasis in class time and songs, as well as homework assistance, play time, some creative spaces (for sewing, making piñatas, and more) as well as just a safe place to share and be loved, all this happens because of one time donors and monthly sponsorships. There are links to the right if you would like to sponsor monthly one of these children, currently that is $38 per month. With your sponsorship you will get a monthly email from us about the project, get a profile of the child you are sponsoring, and have opportunities to visit their home if you are visiting us onsite and/or sending letters or pictures back and forth. One time donations also help us a lot, with construction/maintenance needs, new equipment, and other, many expenses. |
